Priceline 40% off all Cosmetics Sale Haul

Hey guys,
Priceline had a 40% off all cosmetics sale for two days, Tuesday and Wednesday. All makeup was 40% off and my local priceline was filled with girls swatching and testing and filling thier shopping baskets with products. Literally there was no place to move, it was jam packed. I bought only a few things as most of the things I wanted were sold out or out of stock.

The first thing I bought was the Nude by Nature liquid mineral foundation in Medium. I have heard mixed reviews about this brand and wanted to try the products out as I have been loving thier mineral primer.

I also bought the new Covergirl Ink it pencil liner in Black ink. This stuff will last all day. The swatch I did on my hand wouldn't budge even with makeup remover. I guess oil cleansing will be the only way this will come off.

The next three products are from Models Prefer and I love this brand. These products are fairly new atleast thats what I think because I have not seen them before.

The first thing is the Infinite Colour Lipliner in forever pink. It is a gorgeous bright pink. Great to pair with Maybelline's Vivid Rose or Ysl Rouge Volupte in Rose Culte.

Next is this beautiful bright blue Infinite Colour Eye Pencil liner in Blue lagoon. Super creamy, more creamier than the Rimmel Scandaleyes and super pigmented. Both these liners have very good staying power. Just like the Ink it liners I cannot take them off with makeup remover.

The last thing I bought is The Models Prefer Infinite Colour lipstick in Indulge me. It is a long wearing matte lipstick. Wore it today lasted me a good 7 hours without fading. I did drink and eat within that time but the lipstick stayed put. It has a little sticky texture when on the lips but the application was smooth. I will have to use the lipstick a few more times to see if I actually like it but for now it stays in my work handbag.

Price List:

Nude by Nature Foundation RRP $39.95 after discount $23.97
Covergirl Ink it RRP $13.95 after discount $8.37
Models Prefer Eye Liner RRP $8.99 after discount $5.39
Models Prefer Lip liner RRP $7.99 after discount $4.80
Models Prefer Lipstick RRP $11.99 after discount $7.19
  Total $49.72   Savings $33.15

Overall I am very happy with my purchases and really excited as I can try more products without paying full price for it.  Now I am waiting for Priceline's skincare sale to stock up on some holy grails.

Did you splurge on makeup in the Priceline Sale?? Also have you tried any of these products and what do you think of them?

Till next time,
❤

Models Prefer Sweet Shadows and Sweet Kisses Swatches and First Impressions

Hey Guys,

Its that time of the year again where all makeup companies come out with gift sets, Yes!! Christmas is almost here. I had been eyeing this eyeshadow set since the day Priceline posted a picture of it on Instagram. Finally I found it and also found another gift set with face products too. I am talking about the Models Prefer Sweet Shadows and Models Prefer Sweet Kisses. There is another gift set launched by them which is a cute clutch purse with three makeup items in it. I did not buy that as I was more keen on getting these.

First Impressions:

When I first saw the picture on Instagram it reminded me of Too Faced gift sets. That was the primary reason I wanted to buy these. There were no testers in store so I could not swatch the shadows before purchasing.

Sweet Shadows  $15 at Priceline:
The sweet shadows gift set comes with 12 eyeshadows, 1 eye primer and 1 mascara and brow gel duo for $15.

The eye primer feels smooth and dries matte. It does not have any tackiness to it like most eye primers have. Tacky eye primers help intensify shadows on the eye. I felt this eye primer to have the formulation of a face primer.

The Mascara wand is a rubber wand with short bristles on one side and longer bristles on the other. I quite like the formulation of the mascara as it is a thick consistency. The Brow gel side has a normal mascara wand with clear gel.

The eyeshadows have cute names and most of them fall under the mauves and purples category. The shadows are very chalky and don't have much pigmentation. You have to layer them 4 or 5 times to get the shadows to actually show up. In the pictures I had to layer the shadows 4 times to make them look close to color.

Highest Pigmented shades:
Precious
Enchanting

Lowest Pigmented shades:
Innocent
Adorable
Angelic
Sweetened

Overall Verdict:
Cute gift but not a must have. There are other gift sets from Models Prefer under the same price range which have better quality eyeshadows.

Sweet Kisses $25 at Priceline:
When I saw this box I expected some lip products to be in there but there is none. Like the name Sweet Shadows had eyeshadows, Sweet kisses did not have any lip products. Instead it has face products like blush and bronzer.

This box comes with 16 eyeshadows, 1 eye primer, 1 mascara and brow gel duo, 1 bronzer, 1 highlighter, 2 blushes and 1 eye brush duo for $25

The eye primer and mascara duo is the same as in the Sweet Shadows. The duo eye brush is synthetic with one side shader and one side blender. It is quite a stiff brush and I personally will not use it.
The highlighter in Macaroon is very powdery and has a slight sheen. It is not a very noticeable highlighter.

The bronzer in Cinnamon Spice has a nice texture and is warm toned. It is not completely matte.
The blushes in Marshmallow and Peach Parfait are hard and not very blend able. They are not at all pigmented. Even when I used my finger to swatch hardly any color showed up on my skin.
All the eyeshadows are named after sweets and again not very pigmented. The 3rd and 4th columns of eyeshadows seem to have more color pay off than the first 2 columns.

Highest pigmented shades:
Toffee
Black Forest
Honey Crunch
Dark Cluster

Lowest Pigmented Shades:
Chocolate Whip
Mint Slice
Cherry Ripe
Caramel

Overall Verdict:
Again this is a cute gift but not something that will be of any use because there is no proper pigmentation. The tin boxes that these come in are reusable to store knickknacks.

I was just looking through some pictures online and these gift sets are exact copies of Too Faced products. In terms of eyeshadow colors, Models Prefer tried to come out with almost exact dupes but unfortunately the quality just does not match up. These are just my first impressions and all eyeshadow swatches did not have a primer or base underneath. Maybe they will perform well with a primer, can't be too sure though. I really liked the quality of Models Prefer eyeshadow quads but these don't look like similar quality.

Have you tried the Models Prefer gift sets? what do you think of them??

Maybelline Taupe Temptress eyeshadow look

Hey Guys,

Today's post is an eye look that I wear regularly when I need to get something done quickly. I have been doing this look almost every week and gotten really good at it with practice so it hardly takes me five minutes to do my eye makeup. It is simple, quick and easy to glam up your eyes effortlessly.

The products I used are in the picture above.
First I applied Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in Inked in pink all over the lid with my fingers.
Then I mixed the second and third shade from the Maybelline Taupe Temptress quad and applied that all over the lid. Using the dark plum shade from the same palette I created depth in the outer third of my lid.
Using the purple shade from the Model's Prefer quad in Hook me up I blended all the colors in the crease. I added the same color to my lower lash line to balance the look.
Using the white shimmery shade from the Taupe Temptress quad I highlighted my brow bone and inner tear duct lightly.
I used false lashes for some extra drama and the one I used here are from Ardell Color Impact in 110 Wine.
For Mascara and Eyeliner I used Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara and Master Precise eyeliner.

I love how it turned out and I hope you liked this look of mine.If you have similar colors, I would recommend you to try it out and show me how you went on with it.

Till next time,
❤

Purple copper smokey EOTD

Hey guys,

I am trying this technique shown by Neeraj from Beauty Traveller by swapping two shades for two looks in which the lid colour for one look becomes the crease colour for the other look and the crease colour from the first look becomes the lid colour for the second. This is my adaption of the first look he posted.

Products used :

Modelsprefer eyeshadow quad in hook me up reviewed here
Rimmel Scandaleyes pencil liner in Black
Matte black eyeshadow from The Balm's Nude Tude palette
Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara

I followed the same technique that he did in his tutorial and this is how mine turned out. No where as nice as his but practice makes perfect so I will just keep practicing.

Do let me know what you think of this eyeshadow look and also any recommendations for future posts.

Love,

Reshma

Models Prefer Blush in Desk to Date

A lot of you may be familiar with the Models Prefer brand in Australia. I had never tried their makeup before but there was a deal at Priceline where I had to buy two products to get a beauty blender type sponge free and I really wanted to try that sponge. So I bought an eyeshadow quad, reviewed here and this blush in Desk to Date.

At the first sight I thought it could be a dupe for Nars Orgasm but this one is more pinky and more pigmented than Orgasm.

Colour: medium pinky peach with a gold sheen.

Texture: creamy, but does have a lot of fallout.

Pigmentation: highly pigmented, a very light hand needed for application.

Price: I bought it for $9.99.

Availability: all Priceline stores that stock Models Prefer.

Longevity: lasts about 5-6 hours and then slightly fades but luckily does not fade unevenly.

Blend ability : easily blend able, does not stain the cheek.

My thoughts : beautiful blush for under $10. Totally worth the price. Looks better than Nars Orgasm on application, on medium skin tones.

Repurchase : although I will never run out of this but when I do, it is a total repurchase.

Models Prefer eyeshadow quad in Hook Me Up

The Models Prefer eyeshadow quad caught my eye in priceline because of its everyday wearable shades. Gold and a bronzey brown is perfect for a day time look or you can play it up with adding a dash of purple and making it bright. It is one of my go to eyeshadow quad as it is easy to carry and has 4 shades to come up with different looks.

Above are the shades swatched with an eyeshadow brush. They are quite pigmented and creamy but they also have some fallout.

The above swatches were done using a wet eyeshadow brush.

I wish they had included one matte colour but for $9.95 this is a great quad to add to your collection if you are into golds and purples.

Below is an eye look I did using this quad and it definitely flatters brown eyes and medium skintones.

I have very oily eyelids and without a primer these stayed on for about 3 hours. I am sure with a primer the eyeshadow would last longer.

Above is a picture showing how the shades would look in artificial lighting.

For a soft day look you can use the eyeshadows dry but to make them stand out for a nighttime look I would suggest using them wet.

Have you used Models Prefer eyeshadows before? What do you think about them?
