Josie Maran Argan Oil

Hey guys,

Today I am going to be reviewing the Josie Maran Argan Oil which I bought from Mecca Maxima during the holiday season. Now when it comes to my oily skin I always thought that I need to use products that will take away the oilyness on my face but I was wrong. To combat oilyness I started using this Oil as my moisturiser and I can say it has made such a big difference to my skin. 

 

So it all started with a sample sachet I got with one of my Mecca order and I used it for a couple of nights. Instantly I found a difference to my skin when I woke up in the morning. So I read a bit more about the product and found that it can be used during the day as well. I bit the bullet and bought this bottle for $70, which is a steep price to pay but 4 months down the line I think it is worth every cent I paid. Now this is a multipurpose product that can be used from head to toe on the whole body. Be it to smooth your hair or  to strengthen cuticles Josie Maran Argan Oil comes to the rescue. Made with 100% pure Argan Oil that is organically grown, cold pressed, cruelty free, paraben free and vegan.

 

 

Let's talk about the packaging first, it comes in a glass bottle with a dropper fixed to the screw top lid so you can easily use how much ever product you want. I think the packaging is a 10/10 for the consistency of the product. I also travelled with this to India and back and it is still in one piece.

The actual oil is clear, light, non sticky and very blendable. I like to use it every morning after cleansing I apply the Estée LauderAdvanced Night Repair Serum and follow with the Josie Maran Argan Oil, about 4-5 drops for my entire face and neck. I wait about 5 minutes and then apply my sunscreen and makeup. 

Like I said before this bottle has lasted me 4 months and I have been using it every single morning to moisturise my face. My skin has never felt so good in the past 10 years, I have suffered from a lot of acne and occasional dry patches but after I started using the Argan Oil I rarely get a pimple. It could be because of the fact that my skin is now not over producing oil and thus not blocking pores. 

Josie Maran also has a light version of this Oil but I have not tried that so cannot tell you the difference but as an oily skin girl I think the original version is quite light too. You can purchase the 50ml bottle for $70 or the 15ml for $23 from Mecca online or in Mecca Maxima Stores.  I highly recommend this product as it has been a game changer for my skin. 

Klara Cosmetics RESET Instant New Skin Review

Its been such a long time since I have blogged but I was a little busy with my life and I lost interest in blogging. I didn't want to do it just for the sake of it that is why I thought of taking a break but I am back now and here to stay for good.

Today's review is going to be about the Klara Cosmetics RESET Instant New Skin. This revolutionary gel innovation is formulated to mimic a microdermabrasion treatment in a bottle.

The formula contains French honey, bamboo and olive extract, it exfoliates the skin as well as unblocks and tightens pores. It also claims to diminish the appearance of fine lines. Suitable for the face and body, RESET gives the skin a radiant and smooth surface, ready for subsequent applications of skincare and makeup.

It comes in a sleek black and silver plastic container with a pump. For my face I use 2 pumps of product and work it into my skin after cleansing. 

Once you work this product into the skin it balls up all the dead skin into little white particles( as seen in the photo below)

It is recommended to leave this on for about two minutes and then can be washed or wiped off with a tissue. I tend to wash it off but I found these little particles stuck to my peach fuzzy facial hair around my jawline. It does get a little hard to remove because I have to go in with a facial towel and rub it off by giving a lot of pressure. It is recommended to be used 3 times a week but if you have very sensitive skin then I would probably use it only once a week. I have been using it for more than 8 weeks now and found that everytime I used it my skincare absorbed better into the skin. I haven't noticed any other significant difference other than that on my skin. My pores do feel tighter after every use but it doesn't last very long. 

Overall I enjoy using this product on the days I really want smooth radiant looking skin as it does help my skincare and makeup sit nicely on my skin. RESET retails for $34.99 at Priceline and it goes on sale quite often.

Bio Oil Review

Today I am going to be reviewing the Bio Oil (PurCellin Oil). Bio Oil is a special skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skintone. Bio Oil is also very effective on dry, dehydrated skin and ageing skin.

Bio Oil is formulated with special plant and vitamin extracts, it contains a breakthrough ingredient called PurCellin Oil which makes the oil, light and non-greasy. They recommend to use it twice everyday for 3 months to see results. 

I have been using this for about 2 months religiously every night and I honestly have seen a difference in my skin. I have a lot of old acne scars on my cheeks and after using Bio Oil I have seen them lighten over time. I have also started using it on my body for stretch marks and will see how well it performs on that. All I need is one-two drops and I massage it over the face and neck. This bottle will definitely last me years.

This is a product that may or may not work for you and I know a lot of people who have not experienced any difference by using it but that is because everyone's skin is different. I have found Bio Oil has helped my scarring fade away. It is a product that I will continue buying for a long time.

Yes, it does work slowly and you have to wait months to see results but I don't mind that.

Holy Grail Skincare Products

We all have some skincare products that work wonders for our skin and are hard to part with. I have found some really amazing products that I will not regret repurchasing all my life.

First off we have Origins Drink Up- Intensive, this mask is geared towards people with dry skin but I have oily, combination and skin and love using it during the winter. This mask isn't like a traditional mask that you apply and take off in a few minutes, this is more like a deep hydrating moisturiser that you put on at night before bed and you wake up to soft supple skin the morning. I also used this during my trip to India in the flight. We all know how important it is to stay hydrated in long flights as the air conditioning dries out your skin. I took it in a tiny sample container and applied this on my face when I felt my skin was feeling tight and dry. If you are scared to use this on oily skin just grab a sample next time you are at Mecca or Kit and I assure you are going to love it. 

Next up is the Glam Glow Youthmud Mask, this product is not cheap but the results it delivers are amazing. I got a sample sachet of this from my friend Nalini and just chucked it in my sample drawer thinking it was just a waste of time. Then I saw some videos on youtube which featured this product and immediately tried it on. I am not exaggerating but the results this mask gives is phenomenal. My skin feels cleansed, pores look smaller, overall complexion looks brighter and so soft that I always want to keep touching my face. This size that I have here is a smaller size available for $22. I probably would get around 4 uses out of this and I think it is completely worth it. I am not sure if Mecca gives out samples of this mask but if you can grab a sample, just try it out and you will go running back for more.

Another hyped- overpriced product is the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum that I am running low of and desperately waiting to stock up on. I bought this serum last year around October and have used it since almost every night. I can totally tell the difference when I don't use it on some nights as my skin feels very dry and dull looking. When I use this product I do not use a toner as I want this to be the first product to sink into my skin after I have cleansed it. I do wake up with healthier, radiant looking skin when I use this product.

Last but no the least is this Tarte Maracuja oil which I again use only at night over the EL ANR. This product is hard to find in Australia but there are some websites that do ship Tarte products here and the prices are almost 4 times the original cost. I wouldn't mind paying that much because I know this product works for me. You only need 3-4 drops for your entire face and neck and this oil smooths out the skin's texture but does not feel heavy or oily. I have tried rosehip oil before but I think this does do a lot more for my skin than any other traditional rosehip oil.

Priceline 40% off Skincare Haul

Hey guys,

 If you live in Australia you might have heard and even bought some skincare products from the Priceline 40% off sale. I had a long list products I really wanted to try and was keenly waiting for this sale. 

Almost all of these products I have not tried before but heard great things about. The Witch Hazel Toner is my only repurchase.  L'oreal's New Skin Perfecting range is all over the blogger/youtuber world and I am running out of my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum so I am very keen on seeing how this product performs. I also bought the Skin Perfection Magic Touch blur primer to use under my makeup. 

The Tarte Maracuja oil is one of my skin saviours and because of its unavailabilty in Australia I picked up the Swisse Maracuja oil. I hope this works as well as the Tarte oil. I was looking for the Palmers facial exfoliator but couldn't find it so I picked up the Indeed Exfoliator, again which is very talked about in the blogger/ vlogger world. 

I have read about the brand Formula 10.0.6 in a lot of blogs and bought these two face masks to try out.  Another brand I heard about recently is the Milk and Co. I read about the Face cleanser and Body Scrub on KitschSnitch's blog post and I trust her choices so I picked them up to try. Lastly I picked up a pack of facial wipes from Fuss Free Naturals, I don't use face wipes often but lately I have been wearing very minimal makeup and I have been wiping my face with face wipes at night instead of using a makeup remover. I don't like face wipes with alcohol so I am glad this one is all natural.

Recent Empties

Hey guys,

I have finished up some skin care products recently and thought of sharing it with you all and letting you know if I would repurchase them. 

First of we have the Simple kind to skin cleansing facial wipes, I got these in one of the Lust Have it packs I think and never got around to using it, till recently. I did like them as they were not drying on my skin but I don't like the idea of using these cloth wipes to remove my makeup. I won't be repurchasing it because I have heaps more to use up and I only use them to take off swatches from my hands. Next up is the Clean and Clear Spot Clearing Gel, I have raved about this product in the past and it is a great zit zapper but it does take about 2-3 days for the pimple to totally clear. I have recently purchased the Origins Spot Gel and have been loving it. I might repurchase this in the future as it is more affordable but as for now this just goes in the bin.

I have actually been loving the Boots Optiva range and I have finished up my Aqua Capture serum which is basically a hydration booting serum that you can use day and night and also the Daily Protection Cream. These products sink into the skin beautifully and leave me with the hydrated, soft, supple skin. I do have a lot of skin care products I need to go through so I may not repurchase these for a while but when needed, these would be my first pick. You can buy these from Leading Amcal and Guardian pharmacies.

And lastly I have my Chapstick Night repair lip treatment, which I have already repurchased since I lost my Day repair and they come in a pack.

The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating Gel Cleanse RRP $64

It is a gentle and mild foaming cleanser that effectively cleanses the skin by removing the excess surface oils. it also protects the skin from first signs of ageing and is suitable for all skin types.

I found this cleanser worked amazingly well for me. Foaming cleansers usually leave my skin feeling tight and dry but this cleanser left my skin feeling smooth and soft. There was no tingles or dry feeling after using the cleanser. I use this cleanser at night time and sometimes with my Clarisonic and I found that it works really well both ways.

The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating Essence RRP $69

This product is a skin balancing and toning solution. The natural astringent helps to remove impurities and clears the pores, prepping the skin for better absorption of subsequent products. It is alcohol free and suitable for all skin types.

I love the concept of this product. It comes with a spray nozzle so I can spritz it on my face or on a cotton pad and use it like I would any other toner. The great thing about this product is that I can use it all day, to refresh my skin. It does not disrupt my makeup or make it oxidize on me. Because it is alcohol free it does not dry my skin out either. All in all, I think this is a must have product if you had to choose one out of the three.

The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating Essential Creme $103

It is a smooth and refreshing moisturizer that hydrates the skin by replenishing the lost moistutre from cleansing and toning the skin. It protects the skin from first signs of ageing and is suitable for all skin types. The company also suggests this could be used day and night as it is light enough to be a day cream as well as moisturizing enough to be a night cream.

When I first used this cream it broke me out. Now that is nothing new with my skin type. If I try to disrupt my skincare, my skin goes crazy. That is why I try my products for a length of time because after the first week of using this product my skin got used to it. It will take some more time to see if it does help with anti-ageing but as a luxury moisturizer I love the soft, supple feeling this cream leaves after I apply it on my face. I use it only at night because it does not contain SPF and also because it is quite expensive. I definitely don't want it to run out. 

All the Enbacci Products have a very fresh scent which is not overpowering and you definitely cannot smell it once its on your face. They were also created keeping in mind very sensitive skin so it can be used by a wide range of skin type. They are animal cruelty free and all packaging is 100% recyclable.

I am absolutely loving this skin care range and can't wait to try out more of their products.

My thoughts:

I have been using this product for over 4 weeks now. With skin care products I feel I have to use them for more than 3-4 weeks to actually notice a difference in my skin. Pepta bright is a cream serum that I use day and night after cleansing and applying Hydraluron. This product has been a staple because it has actually done what it claims to do. I will say I have noticed a brighter looking complexion after using this product for so long. It has evened out my skin tone a fair bit and also my skin feels more radiant.

My acne scars have not disappeared but they do appear a lot lighter than they used to. My only complain would be the smell. I don't like it but because it does what it claims I can live with the smell. I only have a couple of more uses left out of this serum after which I will definitely be repurchasing it. I bought mine from Priceline for $34.99 . You can also buy it from MyChemist, Chemist Warehouse and BigW. I think it is totally worth the cost because it has actually worked for me. Very few skin care products woo me and Pepta-Bright has made its mark in my skincare regime.

Hey Guys,

Priceline recently had a 40% off Skincare sale and I picked up a few new products and some old favourites too. I just thought of sharing them with you and doing a mini review on the products I have used.

Pepta Bright by Indeed labs: RRP $34.99 after discount $20.99

This is a new product that hit the Australian shelves only a couple of months ago.  It is a brightening cream used before your moisturizer. I apply the Hydraluron and then over that the Pepta Bright. I have been using it for the past two weeks and noticed that it has not faded my acne scars but keeps my face looking bright and radiant. I will have to use it for some more time to see if it actually reduces scarring.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleanser: RRP $19.99 after discount $12

I have not used this product yet but its basically a gel cleanser suitable for oily, acne prone skin. I am going to give this a go when I run out of my current cleanser and see how it works.

Bioderma Sebium Foaming Gel: RRP $24.99 after discount $14.99

I received a sample of this in a Lust have it! pack and instantly fell in love with this cleanser. I bought a full size about 2 months ago and have been using it since then. I will be running out of it soon so while it was on sale I purchased a back up. This soap free cleanser is very gentle on the skin and also does not leave the skin with that tight feeling. I completely love this product and highly recommend it. 

Invite Vitamin E oil: RRP $16.99 after discount $10.19

I have heard a lot of benefits of Vitamin E oil so thought of giving it a go for my skin. It is a very heavy sticky oil and its really hard to apply on the skin so I am going to be taking this orally. Yes, you can take this product orally. It is very good for burns, dry skin, stretch marks, sunburn, rashes etc.

Hydraluron by Indeed labs: RRP $34.99 after discount $21

This product is hands down the only product I am going to keep repurchasing till I die or till they stop making it. It is a hydration boosting serum for the skin and actually does the job. This is my 3rd tube and I absolutely love it. My fellow blogger Tried and Tested did a blog post on this product and I totally second her. You can read her review here.

These Priceline sales are a great way of stocking up on products you use regularly or some of those products you want to try but don't want to pay full price.

Your thoughts about the Beauty Blogging Community:

I personally think blogging is a way of expressing yourself and our Beauty blogging community has grown so much. From veteran bloggers like Tiffany D and Makeup Geek to new bloggers like BBubbles and Tried and Tested, everyone has been expressing their thoughts, tips and tricks through their blogs. I have also made a lot of good friends through the blogging community. It is a great platform to express and share. I am honored to be a part of this growing community.

What was your first makeup item?

I think the first makeup item I can remember owning is a pink chapstick that my Dad's friend gave me when I visited her and was completely awed by the amount of makeup she had. This was when I was 4-5 years old.

Do you prefer high end makeup or drugstore?

I think both, I like high end for base like foundation because I don't get my colour in drugstore makeup. As for everything else I do like using a bit of drugstore and a few high end things thrown in here and there. 

What would you prefer blush or bronzer?

I would say blush. I do own a lot of bronzers but if I have to choose I will choose my blushes.

Name one brand's makeup that you feel is underrated.

I think that would be Inglot, although now people are trying to check it out more. But I think most women go for the branded MAC just because of the name, when you can find better quality products in Inglot.

What is your most cherished makeup product and why?

This answer is obvious, I love my YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks. They are amazing quality and the best packaged lipstick in my opinion. I have 7 shades and absolutely adore them. Also they are quite expensive for a lipstick so I would cherish them forever (I know I can't use them forever but I can still keep the tubes)

Which actress in Bollywood does the most amazing makeup?

I would say Sonam Kapoor. She is always on trend with all the new styles and colours.

Name one brand that makes the best eyeshadows according to you?

Inglot! Hands down. Pigmented, long lasting, wide range of colours and most importantly- affordable.

Which is your favorite lipstick colour family?

Pink! I love everything pink!! :D

One makeup item you cannot do without.

Lip product- be it lip balm, lipstick, lip gloss I need one of them to make me look human.
