Peacock Inspired Eye Look / Inspired by Himani Wright (indianyoutuber)

Hey guys,

I did this Peacock inspired eye look after watching Himani Wright do her version for Janmashtami on Youtube. You can check her video out here.

Products Used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer
Gold yellow colour from the Lakme quad in Tanjore Rush
Green pigment from accessorize
Blue eyeshadow from Inglot Rainbow eyeshadow 127R
Purple eyeshadow from the Lakme quad in Tanjore Rush
Crease colour Inglot 450 pearl ( reddish plum)
Revlon pencil eyeliner in 15 aqua blue
Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara

How to :

Apply the eyeshadow primer as we want the colours to pop. Then apply the gold shade to the inner part of the lid, tear duct and inner lower lid. Next apply the green shade next to the yellow and blend the colours together. Same way apply the blue and purple and blend the colours into one another. Taking the crease colour on a fluffy brush blend the crease and outer v of the eye. Follow the same colour scheme on the lower lid. Line the waterline and top lashline using a blue eyeliner. Curl lashes, apply mascara and your done!

I hope you liked my recreation of Himani's look. I know it is no where as good as hers but I just had to work with what I already had in my collection. If you did like this post then please forward it to people who might be interested in doing a similar look.

Thank you so much for your support guys.

Love,

Reshma.

Too Faced Pretty Rebel eyeshadow palette haul

Hey guys,

I am sooooo excited to share with you my new love in eyeshadow palettes, the Too Faced Pretty Rebel palette. It is a gorgeous 10 shade palette with some jewel toned hues and every single one is a new colour by Too Faced. I don't even feel like swatching the colours they are so pretty!!! Also I am sorry for the crappy lighting because I just cannot wait till tomorrow to take pictures. Without further adieu I present to you, Too Faced Pretty Rebel

The front of the Box
The back of the box

The packaging is quite sleek and very trendy. It is a cardboard box like The Balm's Nude Tude palette with a gold flap lid, which has black and pink detailing. You get 15g of product for $59.95 from Kit Cosmetics. It was more expensive on beautybay.com, around $65 I think. It also comes with a full size mirror inside. The only con would be that no brush was included.

The palette front

The palette back

I will give you an overview but for detailed information and possible dupes you can see Temptalia's review about the shades and the palette here

So the palette comes with ten eyeshadows out of which two are matte. I will start the colour description  from the top left. Dainty, pinky beige and Charming, dark brown are the two matte colours. Girly is a duo chrome green brown, Totally fetch is a bright fuschia. Miss Sparkels is a black with silver shimmer and Ringleader is a warm peach. Gangsta is a coppery brown and Instigator is a gold. Badass is a dark blue with silver shimmer and Jailbird is a silver.

I am in love with totally fetch, badass and girly, cannot wait to do eyeshadow looks with this palette. The shadows are super buttery and pigmented. The shimmery ones do have some fallout but I have no problem with that. Another thing that is applaudable is that Too Faced included matte shades in the palette. I always like palettes that have some matte shades so that they can be used for traveling and you don't have to carry ten different eyeshadows or palettes separately.

Overall I am in love with this palette and I definitely recommend it, especially if you are into colours. Even if you prefer neutrals, this palette has a nice variety of that too and any kind of look can be achieved.

Pros:
Good variety of matte and shimmery shades
Great neutrals and bright colours
Soft and pigmented shades
Gorgeous sleek packaging
Long lasting and easy to blend

Cons:
Limited Edition product will not be available for long
Expensive and not very easily accessible for some countries
No brush

Honestly I have no issues with this product. I am in total love and just cannot wait to start using it.

What do you think about this palette????
Let me know in the comments below I would love to hear your thoughts.

Beauty Joint Haul feat. ELF Blushes and Bronzers

Hey Guys,

So I did a little bit of shopping online recently and I ordered from BeautyJoint which is a website that stocks ELF, NYX, Milani, Wet and Wild etc. I did buy products from the other brands too but I thought I shall dedicate a blog post for these gorgeous blushes that I purchased.

The first one on my list is ELF Studio Blush in Candid Coral. I bought this because of the hype that it is a dupe of Nars Orgasm. Sorry to break it to you guys but its not a dupe. Nars Orgasm is more peachy than this one. Nonetheless it is a beautiful colour that will suit light to medium skin tones. It may be a little too light for MAC NC42 and above. Anyways the colour is a light peachy pink with gold shimmer

The next one I have here is ELF Studio Blush in Twinkle Pink. This is a pretty pink with glitter. Although once applied to the skin the glitter does not last long. It is a very pretty colour, just wish it had a shimmer to it like the candid coral instead of this chunky glitter.

The next one is another most talked about product. It is the ELF Studio Contouring blush and bronzer duo in St. Lucia. In this the blush shade is similar to candid coral with just a little less shimmer, a peachy pink colour. And the Bronzer shade is a warm brown with gold shimmer, again not very noticeable shimmer. I think it is the perfect colour to contour the cheekbones with and also to give some warmth to the face.

The ELF Baked Blush in Rich Rose is a disappointing purchase. The blush looks like a dark peachy pink with brown veining through it and comes out as a beautiful rose colour on swatching. But the product is just very hard. For the swatch below I had to rub my finger in the product more than 5 times to show up on my skin. I have tried all the brushes I own with this product but nothing transfers to the brush. Although it is a pretty colour I just can't use it.

All the swatches.

The ELF Warm Bronzer, a beautiful product to give you that natural sun kissed look. I use it as a blush to give me that natural warm look. You can also use the shades individually as highlighters. Again this product also has a golden sheen to it which looks beautiful on medium skin tones.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase except for that baked blush. All these products were bought from BeautyJoint and ranged between $4-$5 each. You can buy these products here.

Have you tried the ELF blushes and what do you think of them???

Purple smokey eye

Hey guys,

I am back again with a dramatic smokey eye look perfect for the weekend. I did this look for a party I attended on saturday night and thought I could take some pictures and show you how I did it.
I used 3 eyeshadows for this look and they are
Inglot 73
MAC Sketch
MAC Texture
I also used a tiny bit of a shimmery pink highlight shade for the brow bone and inner tear duct.

I applied Inglot 73 to 2/3rds of my lid from the inner corner and also stayed below the crease.

MAC Sketch went to the outer 1/3rd of the lid and also used it to blend the two colours in the crease.

Above the crease I used MAC Texture to create a soft transition.

Applied the Inglot shade and Sketch to the lower lashline to connect with the upper eye and give a smokey effect.

I applied the highlight shade to the brow bone, only on the highest point of the brow and blended it either way.

Using the same shade I applied a tiny bit to the inner corner of the eye to brighten it up.

Lined my lash line with Maybelline Stilleto eyeliner and applied False Eyelashes from Eyelene in Darling Defining which I bought from BigW.

Then used Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara to blend my real lashes with the false ones.

I think purples look great on brown eyes and I always tend to prefer purple over black smokey eyes. I hope you enjoyed this look and do let me know if you ever try it out. I would love to see how it turned out for you.

MAC Dare You Lipstick Review

Hey guys,

Today I am going to review this lipstick in Dare You by MAC. I think it is a very under rated red lipstick by MAC for Indian skin tones. A lot of you are crazy about Ruby woo and Russian red but how many of you have tried this lipstick? It is described by MAC as a deep brown red but I don't see much brown to it. It is a perfect ox blood red color. It is a Cremesheen finish which gives a slight sheen to the lips and is not drying on the lips. I find that you need to use a lip liner as it is quite creamy and can bleed.

I did try on Ruby woo and Russian red but they were too bright for my skin tone. This was a perfect red and it can be worn sheerly too as a tint on your lips. I find that this colour lasts me 3 hours and then the shines fades. After fading it leaves a stain on the lips like most red lipsticks do.

Personally I am not a fan of MAC Lipsticks as they are very expensive and the quality, I find is not that great to shell out $36 for one lipstick, but all of us get suck into the hype of owning a MAC Lipstick and thats what happened to me.

In the swatches below I did not use a lip liner and applied the lipstick straight from the tube.

Have you tried the lipstick in Dare You????

Copper Gold Eye Makeup recreating Niesha Jeenwal's look

Hey guys,

This is my take on Niesha Jeenwal's Copper Gold eye look that she posted a few days ago. You can see her look here. It is a very versatile look for Indian festivals as it incorporates the metallic colors of gold, copper and red. Also instead of eyeshadow I used pigments as I wanted to try something different. Pigments are very messy to work with but I used Duraline to keep them from falling everywhere.

Products I used are :

Inglot Pigment in 78 which is a bronze gold in the inner 1/3rd of the lid
Inglot Pigment in 25 which is a copper on the middle of the lid
Inglot Pigment in 54 which is a maroonish red on the outer 3rd of the lid
Inglot Duraline
MAC Texture eyeshadow to blend the eyeshadows in the crease
Maybelline Stiletto eyeliner in Black
Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara
