Salon Melbourne 2014 Haul

Hey guys,
I attended Salon Melbourne last weekend which is a trade only event held every year in Melbourne. It  is mainly Hair, Nail, Spa and Makeup brands from all over reaching out to students, salon and spa owners. I did go crazy with my purchases as this was the first time I attended and there were amazing discounts. I categorized my products into three for easy viewing. Makeup, Brushes and Skincare.

In the first category Makeup I bought five lipsticks from Gorgeous Cosmetics in Innocence, Bridgette, Woodberry, Inspiration and  Sophisticated $25 for all 5. Lipsense in Roseberry $34. Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof lips in 10 Madgenta $20. Lime Crime lipsticks in Centrifuschia and Poisonberry $14 each. Gorgeous Cosmetics eyeshadow in Violet satin $17.50.

All the small eye and lip brushes I bought from Crown Brushes and the three face brushes I bought from Designer Makeup Tools. L-R DMT 116W-30,C139,C213,C323,C433, DMT 116D-24 and DMT 116D-53. The Crown brushes cost me $20 for all four. The Designer Makeup Tools brushes were $41 for all three.

I was really intrigued by this brand Clearglo and I love trying out different oils for my skin so I thought I would give this one a go. It also came with two samples of moisturisers and a glopaste which according to them gives the same effect as microdermabrasion without having to go through the painful treatment. Super excited to give that a go because I have tried Microdermabrasion once and it was too painful for my skin. Clearglo had a promotion where all of its full size products were only $19 that day so a Vitamin C oil for under $20 is not bad at all. I just hope it works well.
The Redken booth had a fun gaming machine and I won the Redken Shape Factor 22 in that. Yes, I am a pro with the claw machines ;-P

Did you attend Salon Melbourne this year?
Let me know what you picked up in the comments below.

Enbacci Vitis Vinifera Rejuvenating 3 step system *

Enbacci is an International skincare brand founded in Australia that prides in using latest technology with premium ingredients to produce all its products. With founders sharing strong family values and a passion for travelling. The Vitis Vinefera range was introduced not only to suit adults but also aimed to educate young adults the importance of a good skin care regime.
I was introduced to Enbacci about a month ago and have been using their 3 step skin care system for a couple of weeks now. With skincare I usually prefer using the products for about 3-6 weeks before I get any results because a lot of times, products that work within one week, slow down and give me very little or no results down the track, or there are products that slowly give me amazing results.

The 3-Step System consists of The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating gel cleanse, The Vitis Vinefera Essence and The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating Essential Creme.
What is Vitis Vinifera- It is a scientific name given to the common grape vine. This range is given the Vitis Vinefera name because the key ingredient of these products are grape stem cells. The stem cells from grapes have been found effective in reducing the skin's appearance of environmental stresses and also helps protect the skin from first signs of ageing.

The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating Gel Cleanse RRP $64
It is a gentle and mild foaming cleanser that effectively cleanses the skin by removing the excess surface oils. it also protects the skin from first signs of ageing and is suitable for all skin types.
I found this cleanser worked amazingly well for me. Foaming cleansers usually leave my skin feeling tight and dry but this cleanser left my skin feeling smooth and soft. There was no tingles or dry feeling after using the cleanser. I use this cleanser at night time and sometimes with my Clarisonic and I found that it works really well both ways.

The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating Essence RRP $69
This product is a skin balancing and toning solution. The natural astringent helps to remove impurities and clears the pores, prepping the skin for better absorption of subsequent products. It is alcohol free and suitable for all skin types.
I love the concept of this product. It comes with a spray nozzle so I can spritz it on my face or on a cotton pad and use it like I would any other toner. The great thing about this product is that I can use it all day, to refresh my skin. It does not disrupt my makeup or make it oxidize on me. Because it is alcohol free it does not dry my skin out either. All in all, I think this is a must have product if you had to choose one out of the three.

The Vitis Vinefera Rejuvenating Essential Creme $103
It is a smooth and refreshing moisturizer that hydrates the skin by replenishing the lost moistutre from cleansing and toning the skin. It protects the skin from first signs of ageing and is suitable for all skin types. The company also suggests this could be used day and night as it is light enough to be a day cream as well as moisturizing enough to be a night cream.
When I first used this cream it broke me out. Now that is nothing new with my skin type. If I try to disrupt my skincare, my skin goes crazy. That is why I try my products for a length of time because after the first week of using this product my skin got used to it. It will take some more time to see if it does help with anti-ageing but as a luxury moisturizer I love the soft, supple feeling this cream leaves after I apply it on my face. I use it only at night because it does not contain SPF and also because it is quite expensive. I definitely don't want it to run out.

All the Enbacci Products have a very fresh scent which is not overpowering and you definitely cannot smell it once its on your face. They were also created keeping in mind very sensitive skin so it can be used by a wide range of skin type. They are animal cruelty free and all packaging is 100% recyclable.
They do provide International shipping so if you don't live in Australia do not worry, you can still purchase these products. They are available here.

I am absolutely loving this skin care range and can't wait to try out more of their products.

Have you tried any product from Enbacci before?

My top 5 Lip picks for Autumn/ Fall 2014

Most of you will be excited to go into summer but for us Aussies in the southern hemisphere we are now in Autumn heading into winter. I have been seeing a lot of brands promoting red/berry/purple hues of makeup products for this season. Today I am going to share with you my Top 5 lip products for this season.

L-R ELES Micro Bubble Lipstick in Micro Blush, Mirenesse 3D Forever Gloss in Hot Kiss, Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet, Mac Satin lipstick in Captive and Inglot slim gel lipstick in 63.

ELES Micro Blush:
I was introduced to this lipstick recently and it has made it to my list of top must have lipsticks. This particular shade in Micro Blush is a strawberry red with tiny shimmers. This is a subtle berry colour for those who are not very confident to sport a dark lip but want to start experimenting with it.

Mirenesse 3D Lip Gloss Hot Kiss:
I have had this gloss for a long time and I am usually not a fan of lipglosses. But there is something about this colour that I love and when I want a really dark bold maroon glossy lip I go for this lipgloss. It is a little sticky but it is super pigmented.

Revlon Lip Butter Red Velvet:
I am pretty sure all of you might own atleast one lip butter from Revlon. These were so popular last year and the Red Velvet in particular is a great dark red that goes with just about anything.

MAC Captive:
This was the first ever MAC lipstick I bought and it is a little sentimental as, my then boyfriend now husband bought for my birthday about 2 years ago. It is a gorgeous plum berry shade that looks great on almost every skintone. It is a satin finish so it is very pigmented but also hydrates your lips at the same time.

Inglot Slim Gel Lipstick 63:
I got this lipstick for free with some Inglot purchase a while back and I never got to using it much. Recently I pulled it out of the back of my drawer and have been using it since. It is a raspberry shade with golden and red shimmer. This lipstick applies very smoothly and gives a nice shiny finish to the lips all thanks to the fine shimmer.

L-R ELES Micro Bubble Lipstick in Micro Blush, Mirenesse 3D Forever Gloss in Hot Kiss, Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet, Mac Satin lipstick in Captive and Inglot slim gel lipstick in 63.

Essence Tribal Summer Collection

Essence released its Tribal Summer Trend edition at Target just a few weeks ago and I bought a few products to share with you guys. I did not go overboard this time and just bought the products I would use.

The Trend Edition came with

Liquid Blush - 01 Waka Waka $4.25
Pigments - 01 Na-Rock, 02 Waka Waka, 03 Inti Inka and 04 Copper earth $4.25 each
Nail Polishes - 01 Waka waka, 02 Inti inka, 03 Ta-la-ra, 04 Tipi-ya-yeah and 05 Na-rock $2.75 each
Long Lasting Lipsticks - 01 Na-rock and 02 Waka Waka $4.10 each
Bronzer - 01 Inti Inka $5.35
Oil Blotting sheets - 01 Matte Me Pacha Tulum $3.50
Feather hair extension - 01 Inka's soul $4.25
Tip Painter Set - 01 Aztecs Ceremony $5.35

I picked up the 4 pigments and the bronzer from this collection as everything else did not appeal much to me. I used to be a pigment hater almost a year ago because they are messy to work with. But I have found how versatile they are and I love playing with them now. Pigments are not cheap so when I saw these I had to buy them all. They are gorgeous colours and if I don't want to use them I could always press them into eyeshadows (or blush for the pink one)

Pigments in Na-Rock, Inti-Inka, Waka Waka and Copper earth.

What is a trend edition with out a powder, be it highlighter or bronzer. The Tribal Summer edition came with this bronzer which I think would make a better highlighter  for most skin tones. It is not dark enough to be a bronzer and its orange. When used with a light hand it picks up enough colour to be used as a highlighter for the cheek bones for my skin tone.
Bronzer in Inti Inka

Available Exclusive to Target in Australia. Did you pick up anything from this Trend Edition?

Priceline 40% Off Cosmetics Haul

Hey guys,

Just a few days back Priceline had a two day 40% off cosmetics sale, which probably comes every 3 months. I was not going to buy anything this time as I was a little busy and thought I wouldn't find time to go instore. But I did end up going into one and picked up a few things.

L'oreal Paris False Lash Butterfly Mascara :
This is a fairly new mascara in the market and I usually don't buy mascaras from L'oreal as they are quite expensive, but this one was on sale so I thought this would be the best time to try it.
I have not opened it yet but will definitely review it once I have used it for a bit.
RRP: $25.95 Sale Price: $15.57

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation in Golden Beige:
I have heard so many good things about this foundation that I had to pick it up but I was waiting for a Bourjois sale. I got to the store just in time as this was the last bottle on shelf and they had no more stock. Score!
RRP: $29 Sale Price: $17.40

Maybelline Fit Me stick foundation in 240:
Again this is a much talked about product so I thought of trying it out for myself. I wouldn't have bought it at full price since I have heaps of foundations to use up but with 40% off who can say no.
RRP: $15.95 Sale Price: $9.57

Essence Lash Mania Mascara:
This mascara was always sold out or been used and gunky at every Priceline I have been to and I really like the brush on this one. I think it was my lucky day that day. I have heard this is a dupe for Benefit's They're Real Mascara. Will let you know once I have tested them side by side.
RRP: $4.95 Sale Price: $2.97

Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow in Pink Blast:
I have been using the regular baby lips every morning, but since I have pigmented lips it makes them look dull and grey. Since this one will tint my lips a bit I thought of giving it a try.
RRP: $3.95 Sale Price: $2.37

Total Amount before discount= $79.80
Total Amount after discount= $47.88
Savings= $31.92

I love these 40% off sales at Priceline as it gives you an opportunity to try new products you normally would not like spending full price on or even to stock up your daily essentials.

Did you pick up anything from the Priceline sale?

ELES™ Mineral Makeup Review *

Hey guys,

Last week I received some products from ELES™ Mineral Makeup for trial and this post is going to be a review on all the products I got.
ELES™ Mineral Makeup is a sophisticated mineral makeup line specially formulated to enhance the results obtained from professional skincare.  ELES™ Mineral Makeup allows skin to 'breathe' freely while shielding against age aggressors. Every product is free of heavy fillers and pore-clogging ingredients. The skin-safe formulas contain no potential irritants, such as fragrance, oil, talk and dyes. Every formula is hypoallergenic and oil-free.
ELES Dual Action Concealer  AUD- $37.50
This anti-aging concealer helps to gradually improve the skin's texture while neutralising dark circles with its adaptable peach tone. The medium coverage formula provides continuous hydration and a natural longwearing finish. Contains Caffeine, Ascorbyl Glucisude- a natural form of Vitamin C, Marine Collagen, Vitamin E and Dermal Filler.
It comes in 3 shades- Light peach, Medium peach and Medium and I got the shade Medium. It is a very thick concealer that glides smoothly under the eyes and provides medium coverage. I used it once without setting it with powder and the other day with powder and found that without powder it creased a little bit after 6 hours of wear. With the powder it lasted me 8 hours without creasing. I found the best way to apply it was by using my fingers as it melted the product into the skin. The colour selection is the only thing that I am a little disappointed with but I don't blame them for it as these shades would suit majority of the girls in Australia. I would highly recommend this concealer even for dark spots as it did help cover mine perfectly. If you do have a light to light medium skin tone then definitely give this concealer a go.

ELES Age Defying BB Cream 30 AUD $49.50
This innovative treatment cream is formulated with nourishing and anti-aging ingredients including Vitamin E, Squalene and Goji Berry extract. A multi-tasking sunscreen, moisturiser, primer and tinted foundation also includes Broad Spectrum SPF 30 to protect the skin from damaging UVA/UVB rays.
Available in 3 shades- Light Medium and Deep suitable for all skin types, I received the shade Deep. The colour as such is a little dark for my skin tone but I still tested it out around the house doing extra chores to see how well it lasts. I have oily- combination skin and this formula did not make my skin look greasy at all. It gave a beautiful luminous glow to the skin. I am not very sure about the anti-aging benefits this gives in the long run as I can't wear it everyday till I am a little tan. But in saying that, just as a BB cream, this product evened out my skin tone, provided moisture and gave me a little bit of coverage. Without setting it with powder it lasted me about 5 hours after which I started seeing a little bit of shine on my T zone. With my Rimmel Stay Matte powder on top, this ELES BB Cream lasted more than 8 hours on me which is pretty good for a BB Cream. I wish there were more shades to choose from for this product too but if you are looking for a good, paraben free BB Cream then this is a really good one.

ELES™ Micro Bubble Lipstick  AUD $39.50
Kiss goodbye to dry lips. High pigment levels deposit rich, opaque colour while clever micro-bubble spheres continually release conditoners to keep lips hydrated and soft, while helping to set lip colour. Skin-safe, hypoallergenic formula contains Vitamins A, E, C, Chamomile and Aloe for smooth kissable lips.
Available in 13 shades ranging from Nudes to Reds, these lipsticks have stolen my heart. I have been wearing them non stop from the day I got them. I received 3 shades - Micro Mocha, Micro Blush and Micro Flamingo. They are all that I look for in a lipstick- moisturizing, pigmented, smooth and do not leave your lips feeling dry after wearing off. Since they are quite expensive I expected a lot from packaging to formula. I love how they have a grey titanium tube packaging which is sleek yet feels a little heavy and not cheap plasticky. The lipstick formula itself is smooth and very hydrating. It does have a pleasant sweet, fruity scent to it and I love that. You all know I am very finicky when it comes to lipstick scents as they do disturb me if they smell funky. They wear around 4 hours on me without any food or drinks and wear off evenly. The Micro Flamingo shade did stain my lips after 5 hours of wear.

Micro Mocha is a muted rosy brown shade which I love for everyday wear. It is a creamy satin finish with no shimmer or frost.

Micro Blush is a strawberry pink shade with a  slight frost finish. I usually don't prefer frost finishes but this one is not over powering. It gives a nice shimmery sheen to the lips.

Micro Flamingo is this bright barbie pink with blue undertones. On my skintone it leans towards a purply pink shade but I love it. I don't have any colour like this in my collection and it has a creamy matte finish.

I have been loving all the products from the ELES Mineral Makeup range so far and highly recommend you to try them. My absolute favorite would be the Micro Bubble Lipsticks. You can buy all of the above products from here.

Have you tried any products from the ELES Makeup range? Which is your absolute favorite?

Autumn Cranberry Eye Makeup

Hey guys,

When I saw the ChiChi Rich Gems palette there were only two colours in there that were screaming my name and I had to have that palette. Luckily for me, my blogger friend Tried and Tested sent me one in the Halloween swap that we did last year. Although we are not into Autumn yet it sure does feel like it here in Melbourne. Since Autumn/Winter is fast approaching for us Aussies, I thought of doing this cranberry eye makeup that will surely catch everyones attention.

The products I used were:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Chichi Rich Gems palette
Gorgeous cosmetics eyeshadow in Matte Tan
Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara
Daiso Gel liner in Black

First of all I primed my lids using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
Then I used the cranberry shadow marked 1 in the palette all over my lid, keeping it below the crease.
Eyeshadow 2 went in the outer corner and blended it through the crease.
The bright purple eyeshadow marked 3 was used just on the outer corner to intensify and create depth.
The eyeshadow in Matte Tan by Gorgeous cosmetics was used to blend just above the crease for a soft finish.
I then used the gold shade from the Rich Gems palette in the inner corner of my eye to brighten it up a little.
For the lower lashline I smudged some of that cranberry shadow to balance out the look.
Finished it off with some black liner and mascara.

Hope you enjoyed this look and if you do try it out using similar colours, post a picture on Instagram or Twitter and tag me @dazzlegloss3.

The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara Review

A few weeks back I went into The Body Shop to pick up a few body butters and shower gels and the lady at the counter offered to put a few samples in my bag to try. One of them was this mini super volume mascara.

A range of long lasting, smudge-resistant mascaras that add incredible volume and colour to the lashes
Lashes appear more volumised
Non-clumping
Ophthalmologically tested
Suitable for contact-lens wearers

The brush is made of stubby fibres and has a spiral design, just like a screw. The product itself is quite a nice consistency, not too dry nor too wet - somewhere in between, which I like. There is a strange smell to it and I am not sure if it is only the one I got or all of them have it. I actually really liked the brush and the way it applied on my lashes. I had evenly distributed product on all my lashes and they were defined as well.

Then came the part where I blinked and felt like someone sprayed a harsh chemical in my eye. My tears would just not stop. I quickly grabbed some makeup remover and took off all the mascara that was on my lashes.
Unfortunately, this mascara did not work for me. I was not even able to put it on for a minute, forget a second coat. At first I thought I was being paranoid but I tried this almost four times till date and found the same result.

I really like The Body Shop as a company and their policies but this is not the first product that has disappointed me. I absolutely love their body butters and shower gels and expected a lot from their makeup too.

This mascara retails for $23.95 and you can buy it from here.

Have you tried this mascara or any makeup product from The Body Shop?
